This moderate 13-mile day hike will follow Broadway (Present Famous "Bright Light" Pathway, once used as Artery of Trade by the Aborigines, later Opposed to Electric Sign Limit—Calling Dark Area Too Big) on a historical tour from Pearl Street to the tulip tree no longer standing in Inwood Park. At scheduled stops—including Minetta Brook, Theatre Alley, Safety City and Audubon's grave, among others—we'll pause for readings from primary documents and retellings from collective memory.

Meet at 8am, Saturday, June 5, 2010, outside Fraunces Tavern at 54 Pearl Street; hiking time will be approximately 6 hours, including lunch.
